| | BISHOP JUSTIN BLESSES PRAYER HOUSE | Posted on Tuesday, 01 May 2012 12:09PM | | A small hexagonal stone building at the back of the main house has been opened as a Prayer House. Bishop Justin quoted St Seraphim who said that prayer and fasting may be good in themselves but are only a means of acquiring the Holy Spirit of God. The Bishop blessed the Prayer House which has been renovated with practical and financial support from friends of Shepherds Dene. The stone building originally stored acetylene gas which lit Shepherds Dene in Edwardian times. It complements the Summer House built in the Quiet Garden as places of peace and quiet in the grounds. | |
