FACILITIES

Shepherds Dene is a fine example of an Edwardian country house which is designed for family living and weekend house parties. As one of our guests said. "It is a very special place in terms of the buildings and the grounds but it is also special in terms of the warm hospitality offered by all the people met."

It can be hired as a whole – which gives guests the privacy to make themselves at home – or for smaller groups and individuals seeking a  meeting room or a private room to study. There is a spacious chapel flooded with light.

Guests have the benefit of 20 acres of grounds to explore as well from formal lawns to a woodland stream – where deer can often be seen. There is a labyrinth that can be walked for meditation or just for fun. There are plenty of spots for quiet reflection and a croquet lawn and volleyball court for the more active guests.

"The Traidcraft Board love having their annual residential meeting at Shepherd’s Dene – the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the home-cooked food is absolutely wonderful, the house itself is clean and welcoming (especially the log fire!) and the meeting rooms are now up to business standard with full wifi internet and projector screens.  Thanks for looking after us so well!”  Louisa Kouzapas, Traidcraft
